#SuperPsycho is the 31st episode of Sam & Cat. It is the second special, and like the first one, it re-introduced several characters from iCarly.

Plot[]

A kid named Bobby, who Sam and Cat are babysitting, won't stop asking Sam if she remembered memorable iCarly moments while Sam is trying to watch a wrestling match. Meanwhile, Cat is dipping apples in cranberry sauce so that she can make "crapples". Sam then thinks back to when she, Carly, and Freddie were kidnapped by Nora. Nora is still in prison, but then she escapes, ready for revenge.

Dice comes in, and Cat finishes making her crapples. Sam is in a heated argument with someone, and she quickly asks Dice if he would get her a Mexican driver's license for her, but have him put a different name. Meanwhile, Gibby, who is friends with Sam, is at the movies with his date, Lexi. Nora comes and says she doesn't want to hurt Gibby. Gibby is fine with Nora, and he ends up texting Nora Sam's whole address. While Sam and Cat have dinner at Bots, Nora comes in wearing a disguise and sees Sam. Then, Dice comes in, having gotten Sam her Mexican license. Nora notices that Sam likes Dice. Then, Dice leaves, and Nora tricks Dice into climbing into the back of her car. She then locks it and drives away.

Sam and Cat can't find Dice anywhere. Nora leaves a note on Sam and Cat's doorstep saying what she did, leaving a strand of his hair as evidence. Sam is furious, so she decides to find someone who can be of help: Nevel Papperman, another previous enemy of hers. However, he is extremely intelligent and could give them a good deal of information. Nevel has been staying in a psychiatric hospital because he had been infected with a dangerous virus spread through his pet porcupine, Mr. Tibbals. Sam and Cat find Nevel, after seeing other patients (including Crazy Steve, a returning character from Drake & Josh). Sam and Cat give Nevel the note. Nevel notices a Donkey Sauce stain on the note. The only place with donkey sauce was The Aloha Burger, and if Dice was kidnapped, he would most likely be in an abandoned house and there were three abandoned houses near The Aloha Burger. Nevel then asks about the whereabouts of Carly's mother.

Nora had trapped Dice in a well. Then, Cat shows up and asks if Nora knows where Dice is. Nora knows that Cat is also friends with Sam. Nora then pushes Cat down the well, joining Dice as well (all the while throwing hoses at them, but misses every time). It is not for long before Sam arrives and threatens to slaughter Nora's chicken, Maurice, should she not let Cat and Dice go. Nora makes a different deal; they'll fight and if Sam wins, Nora would release Cat and Dice, but if Nora won, Sam would go in the well too. Nora tries to kick Sam, but Sam grabs her foot and pushes her down the well and on top of Dice. Meanwhile, Nevel escapes from the hospital. Nora is arrested and is imprisoned under maximum security. Sam, Cat, and Dice go the Aloha Burger, but Nevel calls Sam and tells her that he was now having dinner with a friend: Gibby. At Bots, Herb appears and takes Nora's kayak home with him.

Quotes[]

Sam: What?
Bobby: Remember the time on the iCarly web show when you played the cowboy to the idiot farm girl?
Sam: Yeah. Did that one a few times.
Bobby: Remember Gibby?
Sam: No, I don't remember Gibby, even though I did the iCarly web show with Gibby for 4 years. I have no memory of that. Who's Gibby?
Cat: Gibby was the kid who always took his shirt off, and sometimes he'd go, "A-Gibbehhhhhh!". Remember?

Cat: Hey! Who wants to try my hot crapple pie?
Sam: Let's answer together!
Dice: Let's sing the answer!

{{Quote|Dice and Sam:Nobody...♪

Sam: Yeah, I remember Nora, why?
Gibby: She busted out of prison.

Crazy Steve: [flailing his arms] Waaah! COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO! THE COW SAYS MOO! [grunts] See ya.

Nevel: Samantha Puckett.
Sam: 'Sup, Nevel?
Nevel: Who's the cute, little, red-headed female?
Sam: She's Cat.
Cat: Hi, Nibbles.
Nevel: Nevel! Why are you here?
Sam: I need advice.
Nevel: Take a bath.
Cat: [laughs] He zoinked you good!
Sam: Are you going to help me or not?
Nevel: What do you want from me?
Sam: Okay, so we have this friend, Dice.
Nevel: You mean the young boy, age 12, whose full name is Dicenio J. Corleone, sixth grade, magnificent hair?
Cat: How do you know so much about Dice?
Nevel: I know a lot of things about a lot of things.
Sam: Well, do you know what happened to Dice?
Nevel: Tell me.
Cat: Some weird girl took him.
Sam: Her name is Nora Dershlit. Here, take a look at this.
[Sam hands over note through window but Nevel grabs ahold of Sam's arm]
Nevel: Sam, listen to me! Get me out of here!
Cat: Sam, you don't understand!
Nevel: I need my porcupine! I need Mr. Tibbles!
Cat: No! Don't! Put your hands back you creep!
Nevel: [they stop fighting, Nevel surveys evidence] What is this?
Sam: It's the note Nora gave us.
Nevel: Hmm. [reads note] "I have your friend, Dice, and if you don't believe me, "hair's" a little piece of him."
Cat: Here's the hair she put in here. [throws said piece through window, Nevel looks at it, and sniffs it and breathes out comfortably]
Nevel: My goodness, the boy does have amazing hair.
Sam: We know.
Cat: We just need to find him.
Nevel: Then we must look at the clues.
Sam: We don't have any clues.
Nevel: Wrong, sir! See this? Notice this stain?
Cat: Is is ketchup?
Nevel: No. The stain was made by donkey sauce.
Sam: The only place that has donkey sauce is the Aloha Burger.
Nevel: Correct.
Cat: So you're saying, if we happen to find a donkey, eating a hamburger, then Dice is somewhere in 'ha-way-aye-aye'? [her mispronunciation of Hawaii]
Nevel: Okay, this girl makes Gibby seem like a genius.
Sam: Just tell us where Dice is.
Nevel: We really can't know for sure, but the perfect place to hide a person would be in an abandoned house, and within one mile of Aloha Burger, there are three abandoned houses.
Sam: How do you know?
Nevel: I'm studying for my junior real estate license.
Sam: All right.
Nevel: There is one abandoned house on Crosby Street, one of Stills Lane, and one on Nash Avenue. Look in those houses three, and your friend, Dice, you shall see.
Cat: Oh my God, I think he's rapping!
Nevel: I'm not rapping, yo!

Gibby: She said she wanted to locate and destroy Carly, then you, and then Freddie.

Nora: You both are my prisoners.
Cat: Wait. I think that's Nora. Hey you're not Noreen!
Dice: Why are you doing this to us?
Nora: Er, because I hate Sam Puckett and you two are her friends, so first, I'm going to shave Dice's hair and make it into a wig for me to wear! And then I'm going to do the same with Cat's hair! [the lights suddenly go out]
Dice: What happened to the lights?
Cat: Huh?
[clucking sounds]
Nora: Maurice? Where are you? [turns on lights]
[Sam shows up, holding Maurice hostage]
Sam: Who wants chicken? [audience cheers]
Nora: Sam Puckett! Don't you touch my chicken!
Sam: [uses fork to pluck Maurice's feathers, whilst threatening to slaughter and eat him] Oh, I'm already touching it. Everywhere!
Nora: You leave him alone!
Sam: Let's make a deal; you throw a rope down...
Cat: Yay!
Sam: ...so Cat and Dice can climb out of that pit and I won't pluck, cook, eat, digest, and poop out this chicken.
Cat: Yay!
Nora: That is so disrespectful!
Sam: Toss a rope down to my friends!
Nora: No, I propose a different deal. Why don't you and I fight? [Cat gasps]
Sam: Us fight?
Nora: You heard my word. And if you win, you and your friends may go free.
Sam: Cool. Let's dance.
Nora: And if I win, down the pit you go!
Cat: Sam, don't do it!
Dice: There's no sandwiches down here.
Cat: Just hoses.
Nora: So, ready to battle?
Sam: You ready to bleed?
Nora: Oh, I don't think I'll be injured. You see, Sam. [removes her cardigan] I've been in prison for 2 years! Working out, lifting weights, getting stronger and angrier. And what has Sam Puckett been doing? [mockingly] Ohh... babysitting!
Sam: Wow that's true.
Nora: Come on. Come on, Sammy! Come get a taste of Nora! Yeah! Oh, that's right! Ready...set... [attempts to kick Sam with a battlecry, but Sam catches her foot with little difficulty] No fair grabbing my foot!
Sam: [pretends to apologize] Oh, god. Sorry.
Nora: You let go right now!
Sam: Okay. [tricks Nora by pushing her down in to well, with her strength, Nora falls on Dice in the process] Are you guys okay?
Cat: Yeah, we're fine.
Dice: I'm not fine.

Bungle: Hello. Did you want some foods?
Nora: No. And I do not speak to frumpy, one-eyed, vacuum cleaners!

Dr. Slarm: [alarm goes off at hospital, notices a sign at Nevel's ward, reading "See ya! -Nevel Papperman", runs to telephone in an urgent manner] Oh my god. Emergency. Emergency. Nevel Papperman has escaped.
Crazy Steve: [jumping and flailing his arms] COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO! THE COW SAYS MOO!
Dr. Slarm: WE KNOW WHAT THE COW SAYS!

Cat: What happens to Nora now?
Detective: She goes back to prison in Seattle.
Dice: Ha ha!
Nora: [growls at him]
Dectective: We're gonna put her in maximum security. She won't bother you again.
Nora: Oh, yes I will! I will return, and I will bother Sam again, and that goes for all the filthy iCarlys, and you dirty Sam & Cats! I'M A CHARACTER THAT NEVER DIES! Wait for me Maurice!

Herb: [last line] Whoa! Inflatable kayak. I could use this at my beach house.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second and final Sam & Cat special.
  • Three iCarly characters appeared in the special. Noah Munck guest starred as Gibby Gibson, Reed Alexander as Nevel Papperman, and Danielle Morrow as Nora Dershlit.
  • The original premiere of this special aired at 7 PM along with extended content leading into the 2014 Kids' Choice Awards (27th annual). Thus, this episode became one of the two to not premiere at 8 PM as a result of the ceremony taking its place. Coincidentally, the other being #GettinWiggy, since the first annual Kid's Choice Sports ceremony would later take its place.
  • There are differences between this special and #TheKillerTunaJump, including:
    • Excluding Crazy Steve's cameo, there are only iCarly returning characters.
    • Two of the three re-introduced characters weren't main characters in their previous shows.
      • Noah Munck was also originally not a main character in iCarly until the 4th season.
    • The episode title was in regular blue instead of yellow and orange.
    • The returning characters aren't mentioned in the title.
    • This special is 45 minutes long instead of 60.
  • Jerry Trainor's audio for Crazy Steve's cameo from Drake & Josh was used in this episode. Trainor, however, is not physically seen on-screen in this special.
  • Gibby now has a girlfriend.
  • There is no mention of Nora's parents, who were sent to prison along with her in iStill Psycho.
  • This episode revealed that Gibby knows where Sam lives.
  • In the closed captions, Dice's last name is spelled "Corleone" (with an 'e'), so he may be named after the Corleone family in the Godfather movies. This may imply that he is of Italian heritage too.
  • This is the third, second, and ninth appearances of Nora, her chicken Maurice, and Nevel respectively. This is also Nora and Nevel's final appearances on any of Dan's shows, as well as the final appearances of Maurice, Gibby, and Crazy Steve.
    • Though Nora and Nevel would later make appearances in the iCarly revival, Gibby never returned.
  • As pictured in this episode, this is the only time Spencer has been referred in the show.
  • The show got nearly 4.0 million US views, becoming the third most viewed episode after #TheKillerTunaJump: #Freddie #Jade #Robbie and #Pilot.
  • Most of the iCarly pictures are from the series finale iGoodbye.
  • This episode was first referred as #PoorNora, and the website nickandmore.com named it #NoraNevelNightmare.
    • Some websites, like IMDb, misspelled the episode name as #PoorNona.
    • The title #NoraNevelNightmare would have marked the first alliterated title.
  • This is the third and last episode without a fan of the week and the first one which doesn't feature one since it got introduced.
  • Nevel said that Cat makes Gibby look like a genius due to her mispronunciation of words.
  • Though this episode is a special, it's not a double episode like #TheKillerTunaJump, as it is 30 minutes long and has one number for its production code.
  • This is the last episode without both Nona and Goomer.
  • Between the original airing of the episode and August 2014, the full episode ran, which was 45 minutes long. Starting in August 2014, Nickelodeon edited the episode to 30 minutes for unknown reasons, and the 30 minute version has been airing ever since.
  • On Netflix, the episode was shortened for unknown reasons. However, on Paramount Plus, the full extended version of this episode is available to stream.
  • The episode was originally 1 hour long, it was later shortened to 30 minutes.

Allusions[]

  • When you see the wrestling match on TV, you can also see the DanWarp logo.
  • Nevel asks before Sam leaves how we never heard anything about Carly's mother. It's a reference to the fact she has never been mentioned in iCarly.
  • The musical duo is a reference to Simon and Garfunkel, and the "Simon" character quotes one of Simon's songs "Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover" ("Slip out the back, Jack"); and the trio Crosby, Stills and Nash are shouted out in the street names.
  • The Nora promo uses scenes from past episodes, like #MagicATM, #Lumpatious and #FresnoGirl.
  • This special contains shout-outs to the award winning films Silence of the Lambs and Cape Fear (1991).
    • The scene Nora doing dips in the prison is a clear nod to Martin Scorsese's Cape Fear. The only difference is Max Cady, the villain in the film got released afterward instead of escaping from prison.
    • The Doctor in the asylum, Dr. Slarm, is played by Anthony Heald, who played Dr. Chilton in Silence of the Lambs. The entire episode is a parody of that film.
    • Nora abducts Dice similarly to how the criminal "Buffalo Bill" abducts his victims in which she asks for help to load something into her car and then kidnaps him.
    • Nora throwing Dice (and later on, Cat) down a well.
    • Nora's referring to Dice as "it" and threatening him by throwing down unopened hoses. Nora substitutes "lotion" with "conditioner", "skin" with "hair", and in some instances "or else it gets the hose again" with "if it wants a sandwich."
    • Nora and Cat have a conversation at the door similar to Buffalo Bill's and FBI trainee Clarice Starling's in which Nora describes Dice's hair as big and fat
    • When Nora tells Dice and Cat that she will shave their hair and wear it. In the movie, the criminal "Buffalo Bill" skins his victims and wears their skin.
    • Nevel is in a similar role to Dr. Hannibal Lecter, an incredibly smart criminal genius kept in a glass cell and often asking cerebral questions. He is able to tell Dice's location from a stain on the letter (that it tasted of donkey sauce), similar to how Lecter was able to smell Clarice Starling's previously-worn perfume.
    • Nevel also escapes custody and even contacts Sam in a similar way Dr. Lecter did to Clarice at the end of both the film and this episode. Nevel is also wearing similar clothes.

Character revelations[]

  • Dice is in 6th grade.
  • Dice's real name is revealed to be Dicenio J. Corleone.
  • Nora's sentence is/was 5 years.
  • Nevel is studying for his junior real estate license.
  • Gibby bought a hat for his fake head.
  • Gibby knows where Sam lives.

Goofs[]

  • Nora says she wants to locate and destroy Carly, then Sam, then Freddie. She skipped Carly because Italy is too far away, so she decides to begin with Sam, who is closer to her, in Los Angeles. However, Freddie was the closest, because he was still in Seattle.
    • Though Nora never asked for Freddie's location since Gibby already gave her Sam's location. She also asked for Carly's location, but decided Italy is "too far" for her, then learned about Sam being in Los Angeles. She had no way of knowing that Freddie was closer to her.
  • Nora did not want revenge on Gibby, even though he was the reason her original plan failed.
    • She also didn't plan to get revenge on Spencer even though he helped on getting her re-arrested.
  • It is unknown how Nevel got back to Seattle so fast.
    • It is also unknown how he escaped the mental hospital but it is likely he waited until the guards were out of sight so he could escape unnoticed.
  • Maurice is portrayed by a hen, and not a rooster. It would mean Maurice is a girl and not a boy.
    • However, since Maurice is a continued character from iCarly, the goof already existed prior to this show, changing the animal's gender or the animal who played Maurice would cause a continuity error.
  • It is unknown where Nora's parents were since they went to jail with her in iStill Psycho. It's most likely she was in the same cell with her mother and her father is in a different prison.
  • It is unknown how Nora knew Sam & Cat were at Bots. She most likely asked around and showed their pictures to other people.
  • In the fitness room where we first see Nora, there are 'I Hate iCarly' posters on the wall, even though it's a room for all prisoners, not only for Nora.
    • However, Nora could have brought that poster to work out and take it off when she's done.
  • Crazy Steve from Drake & Josh appears in this episode, while in #FavoriteShow and #DroneBabyDrone, Drake & Josh is referred to as a show.
    • However, this kind of goof has often been seen in Dan's shows since iCarly and Victorious, in which Dan's past shows like Drake & Josh and Zoey 101 have been referred as shows by some ways, even though some characters from these shows have been in iCarly and Victorious.
  • In the Nora promo, Tandy has a black face.
  • It is unknown why Gibby didn't call the cops on Nora after she came to talk to him.
    • However, since he was dimwitted enough to give her Sam's address, it probably didn't occur to him to do that.
    • Because of this, Gibby likely would have been arrested for aiding and abetting in real life, due to the fact that he gave Nora Sam's address when she planned revenge on the iCarly gang.
  • When Sam read the note, she said "I have your friend Dice, and in case you don't believe me, here's a little piece of him," but when Nevel read the note, he said "I have your friend Dice, and if you don't believe me, hair's a little piece of him."
  • When Nora kidnaps Dice, she is driving a Fiat 500, which is notably small. When she speeds off, the rear wheels skid. However, the Fiat 500 is driven by the front wheels, not the rear wheels.
  • It is revealed that Nora was sentenced to 5 years in prison for kidnapping the iCarly gang at her house. Her sentence would have been longer in real life.
    • However, she might have gotten leniency because she was 16 when she first trapped them, but if she was tried as an adult for the crime, she would have gotten a longer sentence.
  • It’s unknown why Sam didn’t call Carly to warn her about this. Maybe because since Nora thinks Italy is too far, she didn’t think it was necessary.
    • On a side note, it is unknown if Sam ever called Freddie to warn him about Nora.

Running gags[]

  • Cat mentioning her crapples.

Series continuity[]

  • Nora Dershlit and her chicken Maurice return in this episode.
  • Gibby Gibson and Nevel Papperman also return in this episode.
  • Nora says "Yay for days," like she said in "iStill Psycho".
  • Nevel is still an enemy of Carly, Sam, and Freddie.
  • Nora is still a psycho.
  • Gibby's fake head appears; he bought it a hat.
  • Carly and Spencer Shay, along with Freddie Benson, appear in pictures. Carly and Freddie are mentioned as well.
  • Sam mentions when she went to Japan in "iGo to Japan", when she met the first lady in "iMeet the First Lady" and when she got kidnapped by Nora in "iPsycho" and "iStill Psycho".
  • The fact Gibby sometimes takes his shirt off and his catchphrase implying him to say his name are mentioned.
  • When Sam comes in the door speaking Spanish on her phone, she is wearing a Penny-Tee as frequently worn on iCarly.
  • This is the seventh time Cat's been trapped somewhere. The first six are Locked Up!, Terror on Cupcake Street, The Breakfast Bunch, Wanko's Warehouse, #SecretSafe, and #StuckInABox.
  • Dice is seen playing with Clackers, a toy that appeared in the Drake & Josh episode "Megan's First Kiss" and the Zoey 101 episode "Rumor of Love" and some other episodes.
    • As a side note, Clackers also appear in #BlooperEpisode during a Drake & Josh clip, being hold by Drake Bell.
  • Cat pronounces Hawaii "Hawai-i-i" like she did in the Victorious episode Brain Squeezers and in #FresnoGirl.
  • This is the second time a scene takes place at Seattle. The first is #TheKillerTunaJump.
  • The iCarly segment "The Idiot Farm Girl Who Thought the Cowboy's Mustache was a Squirrel" is mentioned.
  • Crazy Steve from Drake & Josh returns, voiced by Jerry's clips. He shaking shoes fixed to bras and shouts "Cock-a-doodle-doo!....The cow says moo!", like in the episode Really Big Shrimp, the series finale in production order.
  • Gibby suggesting to eat tapenade with Nevel at the end is possibly an allusion to the fact Nevel usually eats it, as shown in "iNevel".
  • Nevel's porcupine pet Mr. Tibbals from iFight Shelby Marx is mentioned.
  • This is the second time in the show that a girl is called "Sir". The first time was Gwen by Ruby in #RevengeOfTheBritBrats
