Victorious (stylized as VICTORiOUS) is an American sitcom created by Dan Schneider for Nickelodeon. It is the show from which Cat Valentine originated. On Friday, August 10, 2012, Nickelodeon announced they would not move forward with production on a fourth season. The pilot episode premiered on March 27, 2010, and the final episode aired on February 2, 2013.

Plot[]

The series revolves around aspiring singer Tori Vega, a teenager who attends a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts, a school for talented teens in various performing-arts fields, after taking her older, much less talented sister Trina's place in a showcase after Trina had an allergic reaction to a Chinese herb product designed to help make people sing better. The plot follows Tori as she finds her place within Hollywood Arts, while getting into crazy situations and adventures, and meeting friends to help her along the way. Other students at Hollywood Arts and the students who make up Tori's group of friends including André Harris, a musical prodigy who becomes one of Tori's best friends at Hollywood Arts after encouraging her to stay at the school and helping her realize her talent; Robbie Shapiro, a socially-awkward ventriloquist who carries around his dummy Rex Powers, who is seen by Robbie Shapiro (and generally everyone else) as a living person; Jade West, a sarcastic gothic "mean girl" who has a love-hate relationship with Tori who threatened her; Cat Valentine, a sweet and innocent but naive and somewhat dim-witted girl; and Beck Oliver, a laid-back and handsome guy who is Jade's boyfriend. They had been a couple since before the start of the series until the Season 3 episode "The Worst Couple." Beck and Tori have also had moments where they were attracted to each other, but Tori didn't want to risk her small friendship with Jade.

Trivia[]

  • Besides Cat as a lead character, some characters of this show have been in Sam & Cat.
    • The main characters, Robbie and Jade, have appeared. They also did a cameo with Tori, André and Beck in #MommaGoomer.
    • The recurring character, Sikowitz, appeared. Also, Sinjin appeared in a poster in #MommaGoomer and Rex got a vocal and a cameo role in a transition in the same episode.
  • Sinjin's portrayer, Michael Eric Reid, appeared in #BlooperEpisode, telling Zoran Korach, who portrays Goomer, that he knows how it feels to not be a main character, as a reference to his role on this show.
  • The main cast, Sinjin, and Sikowitz has met Sam before in "iParty with Victorious."
  • It was announced on August 10, 2012 by multiple cast members (Victoria, Avan, Dan, Eric, Leon, etc.) that the show would not be renewed for a fourth production season, so the series concluded with "Victori-Yes" on February 2, 2013.
  • Tori and Trina are the only main characters to have never made an appearance or be mentioned in "Sam and Cat" (Robbie and Jade appeared in #TheKillerTunaJump, Beck was mentioned in the same episode, and André was mentioned in #WeStealARockStar).
    • Despite the fact Tori made a cameo with Jade, Robbie, André, and Beck in MommaGoomer, she wasn’t portrayed by her actress, Victoria Justice. Also, her face was never shown in that same episode.
  • Trina was absent in 9 episodes of the two first and last seasons, Beck was absent in 4 episodes of the two first seasons, and Cat was absent in two episodes of the first season. This makes Victoria Justice (Tori), Leon Thomas III (André), Matt Bennett (Robbie) and Elizabeth Gillies (Jade) the only actors to have been in every episode.
  • The last few episodes of the show hide the line "Sam & Cat coming soon". Also, in "Victori-Yes", the series finale in airing order, the logo of Sam & Cat can be seen.
  • The show's cancellation is parodied in #FavoriteShow, where That's a Drag! is cancelled under similar circumstances.
